           We are thrilled to announce that the Black Health Initiative (BHI) has officially moved to our new office at the Call House Business Centre on Enfield Street, Leeds! This transition marks an important milestone for our organization, and we are excited to continue delivering our services in a space that better suits our needs and those of our community.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           The new location offers a modern environment that will enhance our services and enable us to serve our service users more effectively. With improved facilities and more accessible meeting spaces, we aim to create a welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels valued and supported.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           We want to take this opportunity to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our service users and staff for their patience and understanding during this transition period. Moving can be challenging, and we appreciate everyone’s flexibility and commitment to our mission, even amid the hustle and bustle of relocation. Your support has been invaluable, and we are excited to embark on this new chapter with you.

           Leeds Black Music Festival to pay tribute to founder with a line up led by Grammy-nominated Maxi Priest
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           The Leeds Black Music festival has announced the line-up of international artists, DJs and local acts that will be taking to the stage on Sunday 27th August in Potternewton Park, Chapeltown, Leeds.
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           The event comes a month after Black Music Festival Founder Heather Nelson sadly suddenly passed away and the event plans to pay tribute to her during the day.
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           The main stage headline act has been confirmed as Maxi Priest and his band. The Grammy-nominated Jamaican reggae artist will be gracing Leeds with those iconic chart topping tunes.
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           Other acts confirmed include soul singer Omar and Welsh reggae singer Aleighcia Scott, who will both be accompanied by Leeds based Riddim Radics band. DJs Jungle Warrior Sound, Mixmaster J (London), and Wayne Irie (Birmingham) will also join the line-up.
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           Specially selected local acts will be showcasing fresh talent on the main stage. As well as the music, there will also be a diverse array of stalls and rides.
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           Sofyanah Ramzan who worked closely with Heather as Chair of Black Health initiative said;
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           “This is the first event we are hosting since Heather’s passing and although it will be a sad time for many of us, we know she was passionate about the Black Music festival and what it means to the local community. The festival will continue to celebrate her legacy and outstanding contribution to the community of Leeds and beyond.”
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           Heather Nelson was a prominent figure in Leeds as chief executive of the Black Health Initiative, a community engagement organisation which works for equality of access for black people in education, health and social care.

  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

           Following the passing of our CEO Heather Nelson, we have been overwhelmed with the love and support from the community, the voluntary sector as a whole and all our partners and volunteers. We wish to send a heartfelt thank you to everyone to has reached out over the last few weeks.
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           Heather has been the driving force for BHI for 14 years and will be sadly missed by everyone at the organisation, our partners and by the communities BHI has supported.
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           Heather’s legacy will live on in the work BHI will continue to deliver in striving for equality of access to education, health and social care.
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           This year’s Black Music Festival will pay tribute to Heather and celebrate her outstanding contribution to the community of Leeds and beyond, please join us if you can on Sunday 27th August from noon onwards.
          &#xD;
