Confidential Counselling

BHI Counselling Service confidential counselling service for African, African Caribbean, Dual Heritage and other minority ethnic adults and young people aged 13+. Our UKCP & BACP qualified counsellors/psychotherapists are culturally competent and have expertise in dealing with culturally related issues.
  • Expertise of BHI Counselling Service:

All our UKCP & BACP counsellors/psychotherapists are trained in specialist areas to work with the African, African Caribbean and Dual Heritage client group experiencing emotional and psychological difficulties that are unique to each individual. The service focuses on the ‘person-centred’ method.

  • Why is counselling needed?

Early intervention addresses the psychological and emotional difficulties people are experiencing. Early intervention may also reduce the risk of later mental health issues occurring, evidenced in researches on BME communities and mental health.

The service provides counselling and psychotherapy in a secure, confidential, non-judgmental space in which a person may discuss any issues relating to life events which have caused or continue to cause distress or pain.

Please note, our counselling services are currently at full capacity and we are unable to take any new referrals at this time
